I grew up in Huddersfield in West Yorkshire and was converted in my teenage years. After getting married I worked for seven years as a History teacher. Towards the end of this time I began to take seriously the call of God to move into full-time Christian ministry.
I completed a ministry apprenticeship and then served as Assistant Pastor at Hope Church Huddersfield. During this time I studied on the Christian Ministry Training Course. The course served as my theological training for what I pray will be a lifetime of pastoral ministry.
CMTC was attractive to me because it allowed me to study alongside my work in the local Church. I was able to apply ministry insights gained from the course immediately into pastoral situations. I appreciated the quality of many of the lectures and the practical nature of the assignments. The residentials were also excellent times of learning and relationship building. It was sometimes difficult to balance ministry responsibilities and course demands but the flexible nature of the course enabled me to do this most of the time.
As I go forward into the next stage of my ministry, leading the revitalisation of a small, struggling Church, I’m grateful for the training and opportunities CMTC has given me. It has enabled me to grow in my theological knowledge and develop vital ministry skills.
